Chocoholic Writes (or Eating my Way through a book)

I have a confession to make. I cannot write without chocolate.

It gets my senses flowing. I hear the characters speak, I see the scene, I smell the place, I feel the air (or lack thereof) and I taste the chocolate.

No, there isn’t chocolate in every scene of the book. But there is chocolate at my writing station.

At the end of a writing/editing session, my desk is a mess. Here are a few of the things you might find: Notes from websites, notes with urls written across them, notes containing ideas for comments I need to insert into a scene, notes about my characters, a story tracker chart, empty M&M bags, Lindt candy bar covers, Lindor chocolate truffles covers, Twix bar wrappers, York peppermint patty wrappers.

So, am I writing or eating? Both. It’s impossible to do one thing without the other.

Now you know I am a chocoholic. But what am I writing? Stay tuned.

And check out my Pinterest page, where you can learn all about me. Coming soon: the Chocolate Pins.
