Check out this link to my radio interview on ‘Author’s Talk About It!’ http://authorstalkaboutit.com/beehives-a-suspense-novel/
Talking to Rob and Janelle was fun! What a delightful couple. Beehives, the third of my family secret series, brings a temporary end to the series. That’s not to say that it is THE end.
This radio interview gave me a chance to talk about the book and the series and the use of insect habitat for titles! We chuckled a lot during our discussion, and talked about an amazing number of things in a brief 25 minutes. I hope you’ll give it a listen. You may be surprised what you learn! Rob ended the interview with a challenge to readers — suggestions for the next insect habitat title! Go for it!
In the back of every writer’s mind the next book is incubating. It just happens that for me the next book is NOT about Jamie. Actually, the next book available is THE RAVINE (set in Tulsa), pre-order it now from The Wild Rose Press, http://www.thewildrosepress.com . The book’s official launch date is May 27. I’ll spend the month of May blogging about that book.
And the book after that is almost in the can. LYING and DYING ON THE CIMARRON (set in Stillwater) is well along the edit path, and I hope to be announcing plans for its publication by the end of the summer.
So what about Jamie? I can tell you this. The three books written in the series so far were all set within a year and a half, timewise. None of the books referenced current events. The story could have taken place last year, or ten, twenty years ago. This gives me the freedom now to set the next books whenever I want. Jamie may have aged ten years, or twenty. She could be a grandmother!
Once I have a firmer grasp on where the series will go, I’ll let you know. But meanwhile, rest assured that Jamie is enjoying a well deserved vacation.
